Akshay Kumar is also known as Khiladi of Bollywood,was born as Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia on the 9th September 1967 in Amritsar to a middle class Punjabi family.His father was a government worker.He grew up in Delhi and later in Mumbai's Koliwada area.He did his schooling at the Don Bosco School and his college years were spent in Khalsa College,where he took an interest in sport.As a teenager hi wanted to master martial arts,but father was scared of risking his future with his crazy heroic cravings he promised him to gift all that he wished if,he would secure first class in his board exam.Akshay did achieve his father's demand and flew to Bangkok for Martial Arts training.Once there he lived with his uncle.His uncle got him job at Metro Guest House where his first salary was,just 1,500.He studied martial arts in Bangkok while working as a chef,in Bangkok he also worked as waiter
.After coming back from India he starts modeling,during this period his suggested that he should join films.Since Akki was not connected with films and he did not know anyone from the industry,Akki became an assistant to Jayesh Sheth in order to meet people from the profession.After working with him for eight months,instead of remuneration he ask him to shoot his portfolio.
Akshay began to dropping his photos in producer's offices.At first Akshay could not really afford it so he used to ask for his photos to be returned.
But whenever he went back,he would be told that photos had been misplaced,So he made giant prints.At least no one could say they had been misplaced!The large prints worked in Akshay favor and he immediately got his first film.Although he had to struggle for survival before he entered films,he fortunately didn't have to struggle much for film role.Akshay will never forget "Khilad".
And today he is one of leading actor of Bollywood and he his only star in Indian film industry whose movies have collected more 2000 CORE Indian rupees.
